SAT and ACT Test Prep in Houston and Online
Most families come to us unsure whether to take the SAT or the ACT. We help you choose the right test first, then build a targeted prep plan that aligns with your college list. Nearly all colleges accept both exams with no preference, so the smart move is to prep for the one your student will score highest on. Both tests changed in 2024 and 2025 and now reward different strengths, so the choice matters more than it used to. We work with families in person in Houston and online across the country.
SAT vs ACT: which test is right for you in 2026
The SAT and the ACT cover similar material in very different ways. Here is how they line up now that the SAT is fully digital and adaptive and the ACT is shorter with an optional Science section.

How it works

- Choose the test. Diagnostics on both the SAT and the ACT show which exam your student will score highest on.
- Build the targeted plan. We map the right strategy for that test, the Firat SAT Score Map for the SAT or the efficiency plan for the ACT, to your target scores and deadlines.
- Tutor and practice. One on one sessions plus full length practice under realistic conditions, in person or online.

Pricing
Every engagement starts with the Firat Assessment and Roadmap, a one on one working session with Ibrahim that maps your student's baseline, target score, and timeline before any tutoring begins.
Your required first step and the plan the whole engagement runs on.
One on one test prep runs $180 to $220 per hour and includes unlimited full length practice tests and strategy meetings. Most plans run $3,000 to $9,000, starting from $1,760, depending on how far your student is from the goal and how much time there is. Should my student take the SAT or the ACT?

Do you prep for the SAT and the ACT differently?
Yes. The SAT leans on cognitive thinking skills, so we use the Firat SAT Score Map to target the exact gaps costing points. The ACT is faster and more pattern based, so we prep efficiently for speed, pacing, and the recurring question types. Each test has its own page with the full plan.
Can my student switch tests partway through?
Sometimes. If the diagnostics are close we may start broad and commit once practice scores show a clear edge. We build the plan to avoid wasted hours either way.
Will the score actually help with college admissions?
That is the point. We build the plan around your real college list, the score ranges those schools expect, whether they superscore, and your deadlines, so the score strengthens the applications you are submitting.
Do you tutor online or only in person?
Both. We work in person in Houston and online by Zoom nationwide, and plans can blend the two.
