Josephine Firat, MBA
More than 22 years in education and entrepreneurship, leading Firat Education’s mission driven work with families across the country and around the world.
Ibrahim Firat, MBA
Nearly 20 years as an Independent Educational Consultant, guiding thousands of families from middle school through college and beyond. Past President of IECA’s Board of Directors.
Hannah Lichtl, B.A.
Joined Firat in 2022 as a tutor and writing specialist. IECA Summer Institute trained, specializing in essays, executive functioning, and ADHD support. She is also an Associate College Admissions Consultant.
Leslie Caruso, B.S., M.A.
An educator with more than 25 years of experience and a passionate advocate for each student’s best college match. Having toured over 70 colleges and universities, she helps families find schools where students truly thrive, serving families across the eastern shore, DC, and online.
Jonathan T.
BA in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University. Leads our tutoring team and specializes in math from foundations through AP Calculus and SAT and ACT prep.

Our Tutors
Specialist tutors across test prep, academic coaching, and essays, each matched to your student’s goals and the way they learn.
Heidi holds a BA in Sustainable Development and Public Health from Columbia University and is fluent in English and Spanish. She focuses on Spanish, ESL, ACT verbal and science, and academic coaching in English, history, and Spanish, bringing an upbeat, encouraging energy to every session.
Ignacio earned his MA in History from the University of Houston Clear Lake and is pursuing a PhD. He specializes in history, English and writing, and reading comprehension, and prepares students for the SAT, ACT, ISEE, and AP exams with a calm, example driven approach.
Sarah holds a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University and has taught ESL and tutored students around the world. She coaches English, history, and the humanities, along with AP US History, AP Psychology, and the verbal sections of the SAT, ACT, and ISEE.
Bindu brings more than 35 years teaching chemistry at Houston Community College, along with earlier careers as a chemical engineer and pharmaceutical scientist. She holds a master’s degree in Chemistry from Clarkson University and pairs deep subject knowledge with a personalized approach that builds confidence and critical thinking.
Sam specializes in advanced and college level math and physics, from Algebra through Calculus and Differential Equations. He studied Mathematics, Physics, and Philosophy and brings 16 years of tutoring and over a decade of university teaching to high school, AP, Honors, and college track students.
Myles is a math specialist who tutors ISEE, ACT, and SAT math and coaches students through Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Algebra, and Geometry, plus AP Environmental Science. A math major with an economics minor, he is passionate about making math approachable and celebrating wins with his students.
Annalise studied Neuroscience and Behavior and works across test prep and academic coaching, with a focus on science. She also supports students with ELA and college personal statement essays, and loves the lightbulb moment when a tough concept finally clicks.
Talia specializes in math and biology, supporting students in building strong fundamentals and confidence across both subjects.
Lyndsey specializes in science, helping students strengthen their understanding and problem solving across scientific subjects.
Mia specializes in French, supporting students as they build fluency and confidence in the language.
Zeyad supports students with math, essays, and writing.
