MCAT Test Prep in Houston
By Ibrahim C. Firat, MBA · IECA Professional Member and past Board President · Preparing Houston students since 2008
Firat Education offers serious, structured, one on one MCAT prep for students pursuing medical school. The MCAT is one of the longest and most demanding admissions exams: about seven and a half hours of seat time, four sections, and 230 questions scored from 472 to 528. Our plans go beyond content review to build the passage reasoning, timing, stamina, and strategy the test actually rewards, with progress checked against full length AAMC practice.
Why families choose Firat for test prep
What is on the MCAT in 2026
The MCAT has four scored sections. Three test science reasoning; the fourth, CARS, tests reading and analysis with no outside science knowledge required. Each section is scored 118 to 132, combining to a total of 472 to 528, with 500 as the midpoint.
| Section | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Chemical & Physical Foundations | General chemistry, physics, and biochemistry applied to biological systems |
| CARS | Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills: passage based reading, no science content required |
| Biological & Biochemical Foundations | Biology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry in living systems |
| Psychological, Social & Biological Foundations | Psychology, sociology, and the biological basis of behavior |
Total testing time is about 6 hours 15 minutes, or roughly 7 and a half hours of seat time with breaks, across 230 questions.
What we prepare you for
We pair targeted content review with the two things that most often move an MCAT score: disciplined passage strategy and the endurance to hold focus across a long exam. Missed questions are reviewed one on one so the same gaps do not repeat.
How it works

- Build the personalized plan. Content, CARS, and a full length practice calendar mapped to your test date and application cycle.
- Tutor and practice. One on one coaching plus full length AAMC practice under realistic timing, in person or online.
- Confirm readiness. We track section scores and confirm you are ready before test day.
