GRE vs GMAT: which test fits your goal in 2026

Most business schools now accept both the GRE and the GMAT, while many other graduate programs take the GRE. The GMAT Focus Edition leans into business style data reasoning; the GRE is broader and often preferred by applicants keeping options open across programs.

How it works

  1. Start with the Firat Assessment and Roadmap. A one on one session that sets your baseline, target programs, and timeline. This is the required first step.
  2. Diagnose and choose the test. A diagnostic and a program check show whether the GRE or the GMAT serves you better.
  3. Build the personalized plan. Content, strategy, and a testing calendar mapped to application deadlines.
  4. Tutor and practice. One on one sessions plus full length practice under realistic conditions, in person or online.
  5. Confirm readiness. We track scores and confirm you are ready before test day.

Frequently asked questions

Should I take the GRE or the GMAT?

Most MBA programs now accept both, and many other graduate programs take the GRE. The GMAT Focus Edition rewards business style data reasoning; the GRE is broader. We help you decide with a diagnostic and a look at your target programs during the Roadmap.

What is the GMAT Focus Edition?

It is the current GMAT: three equally weighted sections (Quantitative, Verbal, and Data Insights), 64 questions in about 2 hours 15 minutes, scored 205 to 805.

How long is the current GRE?

About 1 hour 58 minutes. It covers Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing, with Verbal and Quant each scored 130 to 170 and Writing scored 0 to 6.

How long should I prepare?

Most applicants prepare over 2 to 4 months alongside work or school. After the Roadmap we recommend a specific number of sessions and a testing calendar tied to your deadlines.

Can you work around a full time job?

Yes. Many of our GRE and GMAT clients are working professionals. We schedule around work and build a study rhythm that fits limited weekday time.
